Jacob had a lot of fun riding the train in the local mall this past weekend.

So this little guy is over the top in love with pumpkin pie.  You can see that as soon as he even knows it is there he starts going crazy.  Just a hint for the grandparents during the holiday trip on how to have a fun dinner.

Jacob visits the dentist

Jacob had his first dentist appointment today.  Our dentist offers a free visit or two before they actually do a full cleaning to let the kids get use to everything.

Fun around the house

Although we have a hard time getting Jacob to eat veggies or corn or anything like that, we think that seeing daddy eat corn on the cob pushed him to want to try it himself.



After being such a good boy, we thought that a nice dip in the pool was a good reward.  Here is Jacob enjoying the pool.

Jacob enjoys going to the beach now.  Here are some videos from the weekend.


Before we went to the beach, we went to a playground to spend part of the morning.

We also spent some time opening and shutting the door.

Then we moved down to the beach.  He enjoys playing in the sand.

He has the most fun out in the water.  Here is a long video (Probably a half hour) of that activity and Jacob walking around playing in the water during low tide.

For those who have not been to Lincoln City to see the place, I also included a video showing what it looks like from our unit so you can see where we were when Jacob played on the beach.  Plus it will show the difference between high and low tide.

Jacob had his 18 month appointment.  Here is how he measured up...

28 lbs. 14 oz.
he was 34.25" tall
His head was 18" around

Here are some videos from the past week with the little guy having some fun.

These are from Tuesday last week when we went up to a concert that was held on Mt. Tabor.  They have a summer concert series for families that gets pretty good crowds.

He also had some fun jumping around on the bed yesterday.

I forgot to post these when we returned from our trip in the Midwest.  Jacob had fun at the airport.  He walked on the escalator for about 10-15 minutes and kept himself quite entertained.

He also went crazy when he saw a giant frog poster of Kermit.  You can barely see him at the bottom of the picture as the light from the screen didn't make the best situation.  But you can see the top of his arm raising up with excitement.  Sorry that things were blurry.  My camera lens was scratched at the time.

Jacob's fun weekend

He worked hard on the ranch all day and danced all night.

Friday night we went to "Baby Loves Disco".  This was an event at a local mall which played music.  Jacob had a lot of fun.  We spent Saturday and Sunday working hard around the house in the cowboy outfits herding his toys and running down mommy and daddy.  Saturday night we went to a local community center for some more fun dancing around and playing.  Sunday had a break in the cowboy action going to Gymboree.  Then back to work.

During the trip to the Midwest, Jacob got to visit a pool for the first time.  We went over and visited Uncle Greg and Aunt Amy at their house.  Jacob wanted to get out and jump back in over and over.  He doesn't seem to be afraid of the water.

We decided to get a zoo membership and Jacob is excited and had a lot of fun.

He really likes frogs and repitles right now.  Here he is looking at a frog.

He was also excited to see the refreshment machine.  He has a book called "The Tickle Monster" that the character looks like this guy.

Jacob has his 15 month doctor appointment

Things went well.  He did not like the shots at all and screamed very loud.  But he recovered and is doing well.

His stats are:

And then it was time to have mommy move away and take the official picture.  The result surprisingly looks a lot like the Christmas outcome.

But later the little man got to enjoy some fun times with Grandma Smith.

We did lots of things during Grandma's visit.

We went to Gymboree, got a haircut, and learned how to blow my nose.  Look at all of the videos of the fun we had.

We posted several videos showing a typical night and what we do after dinner and getting ready for bed.  Jacob had fun playing, reading, taking a bath, and brushing his teeth.


First it is reading time with mommy.  Jacob likes to go pick out a book and then sit on mommy's lap.

Then it was time for him to show us what he learned at school today.  So he showed us how he learned to jump.





Then we needed to give him a bath.  Jacob likes baths a lot more now that we use the shower part so he can play with it.

He likes to brush his own teeth and we think this is how he drinks water before bed because he wants us to keep putting more water on the brush.

Today Halle and I went to Jacob's school to watch him eat lunch.  Now that he is in the next room up (Toddler room) they have said it is very cute how he eats with the big kids sitting at a table.  Here are a couple of short videos we took of our visit.

Jacob 1 year stats and weekend fun

Jacob had his 1 year old check up last week.  He was 30.25" long and weighed 24.3 pounds.  Both of those were between the 60-70% mark.

Here is another video where Jacob tries to be like mommy and daddy.  This time it is Halle.

We had a kitty visiting our porch all day.  The video is earlier this morning when Jacob saw it outside.  The picture is later in the evening the same day.
